CNE Business Development Ltd was established in 2004, to provide consulting services to Government Departments, Regional Authorities, Private Enterprises, Associations and Non-Governmental Organizations.

The company is specializing in the planning, coordination and management of EU funded projects dealing with social, environmental and economic issues and the management and coordination of events.

Founder and director of the company, Chrysses Nicolaides,
is a Strategic consultant specializing in strategic planning and development and in conceiving, planning and coordination of projects. Has over 30 years experience in all sectors of the economy and held managerial positions in companies and multinational organisations in Cyprus and abroad.

Chrysses has gained extensive international experience, with assignments in Cyprus, Greece, United Kingdom, Syria, United Arab Emirates, Netherlands, Germany, Nigeria, Romania, Serbia and Moldova.

He has contacted studies for Government Ministries and Semi-Government organizations - Cyprus Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and the Environment, Cyprus State Fair Authority, Cyprus Tourism Organization - and Local Authorities.

He managed and coordinated a number of multidisciplinary projects funded by European initiatives in Urban, Rural and Regional Development, Energy, Transport, Tourism, Culture, Society and the environment.

During the period 2006 – 2008, he participated as Expert responsible for the IT strategy and the development of the Nationwide System Specification, for an EU PHARE Twinning Project Romania – Italy and for the establishment of the National Sanitary, Veterinary and Food Safety Authority of Romania.

​In 2011, he coordinated the project team for developing the cultural strategy for the city of Limassol for 2012-2017 and for preparing the bid for the title of European Capital of Culture 2017.

​In January 2013, he initiated “Panorama of Investments Cyprus”, a program developed by considering the consequences of the economic crisis to the business community, particularly the tourism, construction and real estate sectors, and the urgent need for creating new business opportunities and finding new clients and investors. The program is now expanded to cover the Mediterranean region following investigating missions in Russia, Moscow and St. Petersburg, and China, Beijing in 2013.

In May 2013, he founded "EUMED Consortium", a Euro-Mediterranean consortium of organizations and experts, an association that counts today over 140 members including Universities, Municipalities, Scientific and research centers and other reputable organizations from 30 European and Mediterranean partner countries.

In January 2014, he established MED-TOUR, a platform aiming to develop and implement strategic projects to promote Mediterranean as a unique and homogeneous tourism destination. BG-ERA project was designed and developed involving 18 partners and an application was submitted for funding to EU HORIZON2020 program in June 2014, requesting a grant of €4m.

In May 2014, he founded the “Smart Cities Mediterranean Cluster (SMART-MED)” with over 120 registered organizations between multidisciplinary organizations; research centers, industry, innovative SME’s, civil society actors and other stakeholders. The scope of the Partnership is to identify, develop and deploy replicable, balanced and integrated solutions in the energy, transport, tourism and ICT in cities in the Mediterranean region. SMART-MED is organizing annually the ‘SmartBlueCity’ international Conference focusing in ‘smart’ cities and ‘blue’ growth and main themes are energy, transport, mobility, tourism, culture and the environment.
